"Hi!" he said. "I thought I heard someone moving in down here. My name's Sebastian. I live around the corner."
"My name's Cecily," she said. "As you can see, I live right here."
"Nice place you got here."
"You're not the first to tell me that. Don't think you are. There've been others; there will be more. I'll bet you think you are the only one."
"Excuse me! I could go if you're not feeling well. It's probably been a long stressful day moving in. I'll just go and let you take a nap if you want."
"Oh. So that's it. You just want to get me in bed. Well, buddy boy, it's not going to happen. Not until I'm done packing at least."
"I'm going to go now."
"Don't go. Wouldn't you like something to drink first? You've probably had a long day."
"I guess i could stay for a few minutes more. Do you have any iced tea?"
"Boy, do I love a man who knows what he wants. But, no. I don't have any iced tea."
"Well, what do you have?"
"I should be honest with you, Sebby --do you mind if I call you Sebby?"
"That's fine, but about the drink?"
"Of course, Sebby. To be blunt, I have no beverages."
"Can I ask why you asked if I wanted something to drink?"
"I was testing you. And guess what? You passed!"
"Anyone ever tell you that you're a bit eccentric?"
"No, you're my first!"
"I'm going to go now."
"Fine. Just go. Be just like all the rest of them. I guess I'm used to it by now, though. All of you just ask for iced tea and when you don't get what you want, it's 'See ya, Cecily.' I'm sorry, Sebastian, but I'm just sick of living like this."
"It's okay to be sick of it, Cecily. I get tired of my life, too. Maybe it's the routine that just bothers me. Sometimes I think of driving away and never coming back."
"I could join you. We could just drive. It would be just the two of us, Cecily and Sebastian, just driving. What a wonderful idea."
"Before I came down here I was trying to finish a paper for my English class, but now I'm thinking how great it would feel to just up and do that. Oh, Cecily. Why couldn't you have suggested this before I started? Since I am almost finished, it would be a shame to just leave it. I must go back and finish it. Don't think it's becasue I don't want to go, but really I have things to do. Goodbye, Cecily."
"Just like all the rest."
