Scenes from Malaysia

And in the fourth port, they rested...

For many of us, Malaysia was a break from the high paced "sight-learning" of the previous three countries. I, along with three colleagues, ventured out to the BayView Beach Resort, where we relaxed on the beach, and in the hotel pool (seen here, from our hotel room balcony). And yes, that is a bar in the pool there. I should know, I had a daquiri there.

Here's the view from our other hotel balcony. We shared a bottle of red wine while watching the sun go down.

Our second day in Malaysia brought us to a Batik factory. Batik is a style of making designs on garments by using hot wax and dyes (reminded me of an art project I did in 6th grade).

After the Batik factory, we ventured to a butterfly farm, billed as the world's first Tropical Butterfly Sanctuary, and purported to contain between 3,000 and 4,000 butterflies at any one time.

On our third day, we ventured up a hill in a tropical rainforest for a strenuous three hour hike, but unfortunately I didn't get any good pictures from our workout. The last day, however, I did take this picture while I was parasailing out over the ocean.

On the day Julie, Rachelle, and I ventured out high above the waters, Rachelle and I also raced along right atop the waters for some jetski action. Even though it was good to get some R & R, we were all eager to get to our next stop...India.

Go on to India
