Scenes from Canada

Early early morning on the 3rd of September, the folks took me to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. After a round of goodbyes, I walked down the corridor to board my flight and begin my adventures.

I flew into Vancouver, British Columbia, and dropped my bags at the hotel where training would be. But then I took a ferry to Victoria and met up with Soyon, one of my fellow RDs. We took a tour of the parliament building (pictured here) before heading to Seattle for a day, to visit her friend Danielle and the annual Bumbershoot Festival.

Back in Vancouver, we met all the other Resident Directors. Taking time out from our training schedule, we ventured out to the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Here we are waiting for a bus, during the two hours it took us to find the bridge. Clockwise from me, is Julie, Jenny, Terri, Juan, Chanda, Rachelle, and Soyon.

After a few frantic days of making door decorations and making door decorations for our students, we welcomed them aboard the S.S. Universe Explorer. And by 4pm on September 10, we shoved off from the Port of Vancouver.

Goodbye North America, hello Pacific Ocean!
