Meet the Family

Bob, Mom, Dan, Dad, Me

Robert G. Sr.

My father is well known as a quiet man. His interests include relaxing from a long day of work in front of the tube, toying with the family cars when they break down, and all things Corvette. In fact, my father once drove in a Corvette parade--never mind that he wasn't driving one at the time. He works at the Lake Area Recovery Center in Ashtabula, Ohio. Find out more about his cars and houses and pets (and maybe even a little bit about his three children) at his website

Peggy

Mom is well known for sharing her opinion of her bosses with them. Her interests include dining, determining the psychological profile of passers-by, and listening to one song until dang near everyone she knows hates it. She has lately begun joined my father on the couch in front of the television.

Robert G. Jr. (BJ)

Bob loves his comics. He has so many of the things that even though he moved out of the house six years ago, they still fall out of every cabinet or drawer my family attempts to open. He has a beautiful daughter Kelly (I'm The Godfather) and is one of the few people I know who both owns more CDs and has seen more concerts than me. I won't catch up soon, since he is now working in management for a music store, and I guess that gives him a pretty nice discount.

Daniel R.

"The Exciteable Boy, Danny Force", as he's been known to call himself, completed his studies a while back in television, radio, film, theatre, political science, and religion (I think that's it) at Syracuse University, where he can take much of the credit for saving the beloved mascot, Otto the Orange, from extinction. Seems the administration wanted to replace it with a wolf--which would sell more starter jackets to high school kids--but Dan wouldn't have any of that. Perhaps you've seen him on ESPN. He now assists production at MSNBC cable station.

Ryan (ME)

I suppose it's only fair that I include a snappy paragraph on myself so here goes: Now that I've traveled the world, I think it may be time to concentrate on writing the great american novel, or putting together the great american rock band, because when I get around to running my hostel, it probably won't be american. My favorite tidbit about myself is that I once gave Kim Deal (from rock supergroup The Pixies) a story I wrote about her.

Jeff Smith

Okay, so he's not a blood relative, but around the family, he's been known as an honorary Forsythe boy. Jeff is the pal and compadre, but I'm the Best Man. We've seen each other through good times and bad (I'd like to think the good outnumber the bad, even if the average bad outweighs the average good). He fights fires and drives ambulances near Cleveland, and is the proud father (along with wife Lori--oh, wait--she's the proud mother, not father--nevermind) of the latest of the Smith clan, Zachary Arnold (born 8:01pm November 19, 1999).
